Tired

Really really tired and not just saying tired for the sake of tired. Must be a sign that my body is asking me to take a break or something.

These days will be very sleep early in the evening, by early I meant before 12 midnight and go to work feeling as if I am sleepwalking. Not even sure how I survived this whole week...must be on backup battery.

Could be a side effect of the medication I am taking but somehow I also feel my muscles straining or aching when I stretch versus in the past, no such issue.

Anyway with the holidays coming and me getting a few days off, will wait and see if my body will recover from its lethargicness.

Kinda Pissed

Not sure if it is considered a good pissed or bad pissed. The dress that I posted that I love, the first one, is now on further discount. Kinda make me ask myself why I jumped into it when I could have save $20 from the original if I buy it now...arrghhh.

And note to myself : Stop buying only ALL black dresses and tops!!!!

Another wise choice

This is another dress that I bought from an online shop which is a wise choice. These days I am in a dress craze, buying lots of dresses as I am lazy to mix and match. When this dress first arrived, the elastic band area feels a bit tight but that could be because I tried it on with another top below.

I wore it to work today and was so happy with this purchase because it just flows down my legs and it was soft and mould to my body. Very comfy indeed. I was already worried about the length, thinking it is too short but because it has a tulip skirt design, it doesn't open up at the hem thus even when I am climbing stairs or walking, it doesn't expose the back of my legs as I thought it will be.

2 more packages and I have all my packages on hand hehe.

Good Buy

If you have been reading my past entries, you will know that I have been doing some online shopping like crazy. And I really mean crazy.

Anyhow today one of the item arrived and it is by far the most expensive item I bought from that site and also by far, my best buy since it feels so lush against my skin and yes it shows some of my bumps when I wear them but next time I will be sure to suck in my stomach...can't wait to find an occasion to wear it and also possibly pair it with a belt. It is a very simple dress but sometimes simplicity is the key.

Only downside is while going to the website to get a picture for all to see, I noticed the price had dropped by 5 pounds, sucks, could have save more money. But to be honest, sometimes when you wait, the price might have gone down but your size is out...what a bummer.

I have 2 other items that I bought on the same day until another purchase so let's see if the purchases will arrive tomorrow!

Chopped!

Finally chopped off my long hair today...why chopped and not cut? Cos I really really want a very short cut this time round. The last time I have short hair must be when I was in Secondary 2, wow, do the maths.

Anyway I don't really think the cut is very flattering but as time goes by I know I will accept it and in fact the stylist cut it to slightly below my shoulder but what I want was truly short like, above my neckline...hehe but stylist said I have not had short hair for so long, he is worried I will regret so told me to keep to this length for now and in a few months time when I go back for a trim if I am not happy with the length, he will cut it really really short as per my ideal.

But overall I am happy because my long hair was getting stale, hard to manage, dragging me down, the fringe the hair, makes me look so unkemp. And the good news is short hair dries really fast so next time I can wash my hair at night and know it will dry up prior to bedtime...yippee!

Broke

Spent so much money splurging on clothes online due to the drop in some overseas currencies as well as some offering free shipping etc etc. But even though I am busy paying off my credit card bills for these purchases, I am on the other hand very excited and eagerly awaiting the purchases to arrive one by one.

Yep one by one because I purchased at least 4 - 5 different times and so far only 1 package had arrived but that's good enough for now as it contained some X'mas presents I ordered...the other packages will solely be for ME!

One thing after another

First was thyroid, then now rashes, what's next?

These rashes has put me out of work for 2 days although fortunately I have my office laptop with me so was still able to work from home.

But it is horrible, must be some food allergy that I got and it itches and it looks as if I have measles arrghh.

Just want to get well soon and go back to my normal routine.

First Timer

Lots of first time these few week.

Work wise not exactly fantastic but personal wise, lots of things happening. Started to deposit for a house and also started to invest in shares.
Hopefully both will show very positive results very very soon while hoping my medical results will show negative haha.

Build A House Soon?

Did something today which I had wanted to do for the last few months which is to start building a house in Perth. Went to make my deposit today but not sure whether it is fast enough to secure the land I wanted.
Keeping my fingers crossed and hope to hear good news from the agent soon!

Waste of $

Went for my bi-annual health screening a few days back and during the screening, the doctor needs to extract my blood and she was not gentle at all, ouch!

Following that check-up, she said why don't I check for Hepatitis as well given my family history and on top of that said I have a thick neck and suspected I have thyroid. But since she is not our company doctor, she referred me to another clinic and within 2 hours, I had to run to 2 different clinics.

Anyway that's not the end of the story, they immediately wanted me to go for an ultrasound scan the same day but can't get an appointment at the radiologist. So an appointment was made for me the next day and because I left the office late, I rushed down by taking a taxi. Cost me $8 for a 15 mins drive.

And, even though I had an appointment I was made to wait an hour. After that one hour was up, someone approached me and said there is a long queue in front of me and whether I want to go for my lunch first and come back in another hour. Arrghh if I know that there is no such things as an appointment, I would have taken my own sweet time to go to the hospital by taking the bus and slowly walk.

Can't be single?

Saw this article that day and saved it so I can share them with my friends here. The title of the article is "The shocking effects of being single"

Read the article here.

I read through the whole entire article and I don't agreed with most of what they are saying. Frankly I think the writer should go research also on the cons of being married.

Let's Sweet

First and foremost let me just say the name is so corny and utterly not proper English. It is a name of a restaurant that my friend and I tried out over the long weekend that just passed.
I overheard someone during lunch about this place and her feedback was the food is not fantastic but that day my friend and I ended up in the same mall and I actually asked my friend to let's try the restaurant together. Which we did and true enough, food is not fantastic, the quantity of food is just not sufficient, the layout of the entire buffet spread (if you can call it a buffet) is just so badly designed. There are hardly any room to queue and to walk and the speed at which they send out the food from the kitchen is really really slow.

As my friend said after the experience that she will never come back again and I ditto it. We think it is just a fad that ended up with such a long queue but if you are smart, you will go to the restaurants around it which serve better food at the same price or less.

Flea Market Experience

I ran a blogshop in case you are a new reader and don't know, my blogshop is call Rêveur Belle. For months it has been a struggle for me to juggle both work, social life and a 'business'. And when my friend approached me one day to asked if I am interested to run a stall with her at a flea market over a weekend, I said yes.

Alot of preparations went into the event, both for my friend and I and when the BIG DAY came, we huffed and puffed to load our goods into my friend's MPV. We arrived early on the first day but it looks like there were already some stall owners who came at 6 am just to get a good location (whatever it may be).

Instead of writing about the entire experience, I just want to summarize that it was a tedious experience, one that my friend and I will not want to return to and she said good riddance to the place when we drove off.

Basically there was nothing good to say, I can tell you all the bad. The place itself is in a carpark and there are no air-conditioning (Hello!!! here's Singapore where nobody shops in non-airconditioned places), the place was not quite known to those who doesn't drive and if you arrived by public transport, you would not have known where we were since there was no publicity at all. And the organizer is a young lady who had this black face throughout the entire 2 days and she did pass by the shop at the end of the 2nd day, not smiling, not caring how you fare and who she can make the next flea a better experience. So if anyone wanted to run a stall there next time, I would simple say FORGET IT!
Since then, I have checked out 2 more locations where there are flea market to see how succesful they are and both of these flea markets are in air-conditioned location and one of the location really surprised me with so much crowd when I was expecting a ghost town since it is in the central business district. So, who knows, we may just turn up in another better location to set up shop again. Will keep you posted.

Crap

I suspected I have used this subject title a few times in this blog but I am just too lazy to go back and search so sue me for lack of originality if you can.

So, yesterday was a super long day for me, started at 6 am (frens who know me well know I am simply not a morning person) just so I can make it to work at 730 am in the morning for a meeting starting at 8 am. So after a longggg day of meetings back to back, I was finally able to get back to my desk to work on a project my boss asked me to work on and which I have to passed it on to another colleague in the US to finish the rest.

So I worked and worked on it until 730pm, that's an astonishingly 12 hours at one, minus that perhaps 45 mins I took for work, it is still more than 11 hours. And I don't know what happened but I have a habit of checking what I attached before I sent and lo and behold, the file was in its original form without my comments...arrghhhhh and by now I was so shagged that I just give up searching for it. So I came home and have a quick dinner before I started searching for the missing file.

Alas all was lost, I might have deleted it while cleaning my desktop and accidentally deleted it as well. So I quickly redo everything and sent it out to my colleague as my boss gave us a deadline of 12 pm which was 12 midnight my time. So, all that said and done, I am just glad the day is over.

See what I mean?

See this? It is a floorplan of a potential house in Australia. It is drawn by none other than yours truly, me!

I don't even know I got it in me, I really can't draw well but thanks to technology, you can practically download a software and get help but of course, you have to provide the inspiration.

So, if I ever get the chance to own a piece of land and have extra cash on hand, I would built the above house, build to measure haha. There's a lot more ideas I have which I am going to design and keep it in case one day, I really do get the chance to build my own house.
If there are any house builders out there who will like to purchase the drawings from me, let me know!!

If only

If only I can turn back time, there will be many things I would have done compared to what I have done.
- I would have stay in Australia after graduating such that immigrating is no longer such a challenge
- I would have went ahead to purchase a house and not be scared of this and that
- I should have go into architecture or designing versus going into business studies
However as the saying goes, history is history, you can never take back what was done but can only look forward and do what you can in the future.

EPL

The EPL season is finally here again, unfortunately my favorite team is not playing until Monday night UK time meaning it will be in the middle of the night on Tuesday for me *sob sob*

Community Shield

Spent a couple of hours sitting in front of the tv watching the FA Community Shield Cup yesterday and YES YES YES, Man Utd won the Cup!!! Hope this is a good omen to having a great campaign in this year's EPL. Way to go my favorite team!
I quite like the idea of having Vidic as the captain and it was good to see Chicha in action for the first time for Man Utd on home territory. He is such a speedy runner and great at chasing balls and most of all he is so so cute. Looking forward to catching the EPL when it starts again in a week's time.

Cleaning Spree

I suppose you heard of shopping spree but have you heard of cleaning spree? Now you do!
Even though there have been a few less busy weekends, instead of going out I have been going on a cleaning spree, just can't get enough of the cleaning. Although it is just my room but let me tell you, I threw out so many paper and magazines as well as killing a few cockcroaches and the results are very satisfying.

After the cleaning, my back hurts so much from the bending over and mopping of the floor over and over again and while my cleaning spirit is high, I just want to go on and on and on. And this weekend, which is a long one, I spent a few hours 2 days in a row at IKEA buying lots of storage and organizing stuff..lots more cleaning to come!

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

A few weeks back, when walking to my exercise class in Tampines I saw this pinkish blue sky which was beautiful so I whipped out my handphone and while doing that, I heard some students shouting to their friends "Did you see the rainbow?". Huh? What rainbow? But when I turned my head the other direction, I saw the most wonderous looking rainbow against the beautiful sky I saw. The funny thing is rainbow usually comes about after the rain but it was only starting to drizzle when I caught this sight. It starts me wondering if there is a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow...sigh. Anyhow it also brings me to think of this lovely song called "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", I like this version by Matthew Morrison on Glee! It was performed on the last episode of Season 1, love the episode.

Enjoy!

RWS

Just opened and already we have social issues.

"Indonesian who lost all in casino at Resorts World Sentosa, stole at airport

Channel NewsAsia - Thursday, February 18

Indonesian who lost all in casino at Resorts World Sentosa, stole at airport
SINGAPORE: An Indonesian man who lost all the S$1,000 he had with him at the Resorts World Sentosa casino was jailed for four weeks after pleading guilty to stealing a handphone from an undergraduate at Changi Airport.

The unemployed Indonesian, Paulus Djohar, stole the S$500 handphone from Ms Lim Tse Min at Terminal 1 on Tuesday.

He had intended to get some cash from the sale of the handphone.

The court heard Djohar came to Singapore from Malaysia last Tuesday with the intention of patronising the newly—opened casino at Sentosa.

As he lost all his money gambling at the casino on Monday, the second day of its opening, he decided to steal from passengers at Changi Airport.

Djohar went to the airport early Tuesday morning.

He then approached Ms Lim, who was with a group sending off a friend going to Australia to study.

One of them saw Djohar brushed his hands across Ms Lim’s backpack and walked away quickly.

The witness alerted Ms Lim who discovered her handphone missing from the side pocket of her backpack.

Ms Lim and the witness confronted Djohar and filed a police report"

Scotts Beef Noodles

After hearing so many friends saying that the Scotts Beef Noodles have resurfaced at Ion Orchard, I couldn't resist trying it today for lunch since I was in the area today.

After so much anticipation, I must say the whole hoo hah about this stall is overrated and utterly disappointing.

I used to eat at Scotts Food Court alot and always have the beef noodles there so trust me I know how the original taste like. Other than the chilli, the rest of the setup was not the same as the original. The gravy doesn't look as dark and the biggest disappointment for me I must say is the missing salted vegetables. The soup taste bland and lack the beefy taste and the beef balls though bouncy doesn't seems to be seasoned enough.

All in all, it was a total waste of my $6.50....but if I never try I will never know so once bitten twice shy, you will never see me spend my money on the noodles again!

Is this consider good customer service?

Saw this article and is wondering whether people consider this good customer service or it is a disgusting idea?

"UK - If you find your bed too cold to sleep in, staff employees at Holiday Inn will soon help warm your bed up for you.

According to Reuters, the Holiday Inn chain is will offer its employees up as bedwarmers in a trial service in three hotels in Britain this month.

On request, a staff-member at the Holiday Inn will dress in an all-in-one fleece sleeper suit before slipping into bed. The bed warmer will also have a thermometer to measure the bed's required temperature of 20 degrees Celsius.

This service will apply to two of its London hotels and one hotel in Manchester. In an email to Reuters, the hotel spokeswoman Jane Bednall said, "The new Holiday Inn bed warmers service is a bit like having a giant hot water bottle in your bed."

Sleep-expert Chris Idzikowski, director of the Edinburgh Sleep Center, said that there is plenty of scientific evidence to show that sleep starts at the beginning of the night when body temperature starts to drop. "A warm bed - approximately 20 to 24 Celsius - is a good way to start this process whereas a cold bed would inhibit sleep." "

Talented Rio

Rio Ferdinand, one of the defenders of Man Utd is so talented. I know he has a magazine and now he is designing and producing footwear and even act as the model....AND that's not all, he even has his own restaurant call Rosso in Manchester.

I actually went passed the restaurant twice but too bad, did not see any footballers hanging around. But I managed to take a photo of the restaurant for everyone to see.

Look

Look at these men alighting from the plane....one would think they are models right?

WRONG!! They are not models but Real Madrid footballers...damn, don't they look good in suits?
